Dreaming of an RV Winter Getaway
One of the best things about RV living is the freedom to follow the sun. When it’s cold outside, it’s fun to think about a winter RV getaway.
As a holiday gift, we’ve put together a list of lovely places to park your adventure vehicle if you’re seeking warm weather during the colder months. So now we offer them to you, in no particular order.

Winter Getaway #1
Scottsdale, Arizona
Scottsdale is part of the Phoenix metropolitan area. But it has some of the charms of a small town. Enjoy the arts district, casinos, golf courses, and access to the Mayo Clinic. There are nearly a half-dozen RV parks in Scottsdale alone. If you stay until spring, you can watch the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, and Arizona Diamondbacks spring training.

Winter Getaway #2
Palm Beach County, Florida
You’ll be part of a mass migration of snowbirds when you winter in Palm Beach County. They increase the population each year by more than 10%. Once you settle in, enjoy the beach at Jupiter or join the majority of snowbirds in the town of Palm Beach. There are about a dozen RV parks in the area where you can rest your wings.

Lake Havasu-Kingman, Arizona
Lake Havasu State Park and numerous marina resorts will welcome you and your RV. Then you can enjoy the casino and an increasing number of restaurants. And don’t miss the London Bridge. Even during the winter months, you’’ find lots of activities to enjoy along the lake.

Galveston
A tropical island in Texas, Galveston offers views of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy miles of beaches and a charming historic downtown. Galveston has one of the largest collections of Victorian architecture in the country. Then, in February, partake in the third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. There are a couple of local RV parks. Make sure to ask about winter discounts.

San Diego
All the conveniences of a big city, but with the feel of a laid-back beach town, San Diego is a wonderful place to winter. The temperature hovers between 70 and 80 degrees all winter. Also, this city is full of fine restaurants, wineries, and breweries. And there are more than a dozen medical centers in San Diego and the surrounding communities. There are about two dozen RV parks in and around the city, some close to attractions like Sea World and Legoland. By the way, don’t miss out on the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

Winter Getaway #5
San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio is another winter RV getaway that offers plenty of fun for everyone, plus all the amenities of a large city. There are abundant health care options as well as many attractions. SeaWorld and Six Flags will be a thrill for the kids. And everyone will appreciate The Riverwalk and The Alamo. So pull your RV into one more than two dozen RV parks in the area, then get out and see the sights.

Santa Cruz, California
About three dozen RV parks accommodate lovers of surf and sun. While wintering in Santa Cruz, you’ll have a chance to explore shops on the boardwalk or a hike in a redwood forest. This is a classic California town where you can be as laid back or active as you wish.

Tybee Island, Georgia
Tybee Island is located in beautiful Savannah, Georgia, a winter paradise in itself. And River’s End RV Park will put you right on the wide, clean beaches where you can sun and swim. There are several more RV parks nearby. After relaxing on the beach, explore Savannah’s historic district. Also, Tybee Island is another great place to enjoy Mardi Gras.
